one good thing about having your family spread all over is that you get to see beloved places more often! In late summer, nephew number four was born :-). The whole family went for a fun bikeride.

Visiting this beautiful city for the first time (actually beeing mainly invited for a 60th birtday!), i was impressed by the different architectural styles – from romanic, gothic, renaissance, to baroque and art nouveau.

Sarotti-Höfe | Mehringdamm. Die insgesamt sieben Höfe mit denkmalgeschützen Gebäuden sind nach der traditionsreichen Schokoladenmarke benannt, die hier einst produzierte.

Neubau des niederländischen Filminstituts, eröffnet im Jahr 2012, erbaut von Delugan Meissl Architekten (sie u.a. Porsche Museum in Stuttgart) Fotos vom Foyer/Café mit Blick aufs Wasser und witzigen Lampen.
